It’s BINGO TIME!!!  Come out every Wednesday from 8:30am – 9:30am for a fun filled hour of BINGO with new and old friends to County Market in the Deli area.  The more the merrier.  We always have some laughs and lots of prizes to share. Sunday’s -- Come worship with us…trying to find a worship service to attend Sunday Afternoons?  Shelbyville Manor & Hawthorne Inn holds their worship service every Sunday at 2:30pm in the Manor Dining Hall.  All are welcome. Monday and Friday’s:  Did you know Shelbyville Senior Citizens have a great program here in Shelbyville that provides hot meals Monday through Friday for those that need a little help cooking.  The meals are delivered to their home by volunteers through the Senior Center.  It’s a great option for people to have a daily hot meal and to have someone check on them once a day.  Shelbyville Manor & Hawthorne Inn volunteer on Mondays and Fridays…so watch for our car out and about around 11am!  Give us a wave.  And if you know of anyone in need of this special service please call Marjorie Eversole at the Senior Center at 774-2251 for more information.

  October 5th:  It’s BINGO Time!!!  Come out for a fun time with friends to Hawthorne Inn Bingo at 2pm in dining room.  Refreshments and Prizes!!! October 7th:  Look for the Shelbyville Manor & Hawthorne Inn car, bus and staff members in the Scarecrow Daze Parade today at 10am.  We will be throwing out all kinds of goodies!  Hope to see everyone out and about today! October 9th:  Come out for Dine with a Doc at Shelby County Senior Center at 11am—2pm.  Dine with a Doc is a free service for Senior Citizens to gather for a meal and learn about health related topics.  Please RSVP to senior center:  774-2251. October 12th:  Calling all BINGO Players…Come out to Findlay Community Center. 11:30am—1pm.  Meal from 11:30am—12pm.  Bingo from 12pm—1pm.  Meal provided by Peace Meals, suggested donation of $3.50.  RSVP to Sally at 756-8552. October 18th:  It’s Bingo at County Market today.  Always the third Wednesday of the Month from  8:30am—9:30am.  In the Deli eating area.  Bring your daubers. October 20th:  The long awaited TRIP is HERE!  Hawthorne Inn Bus Trip to Alton Argosy Casino.  Bus Leaves at 7:30am. RSVP to Joni by October 17th, 774-2111.  Seating is limited.  Please make sure if you sign up and cannot attend to let us know ASAP, so that we can give your seat to someone on the waitlist. October 26th:  Come learn about nutritional information at our Senior Lunch and Learn.  12pm at Bounce Back.  Speaker: Matt McPherson, Dietician at HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital.  RSVP by October 23rd to Joni at 774-2111. Peace Meals are delivered by Shelbyville Manor & Hawthorne Inn twice a week on Monday’s and Friday’s.  Peace Meals are a service through our Shelby County Senior Center and Sarah Bush Lincoln in Mattoon.  Peace Meals are for those citizens in the community that need a little assistance for well balanced meals and who might not be able to get out for groceries.  Suggested Donations are $3.50 each day of receiving the meals.  Meals are delivered Monday -  Friday.  Please contact Marjorie at the Senior Center for more information:  774-2251.  Look for our car out and about and give us a wave!
