It’s BINGO TIME!!!  Come out every Wednesday from 8:30am – 9:30am for a fun filled hour of BINGO with new and old friends to County Market in the Deli area.  The more the merrier.  We always have some laughs and lots of prizes to share. Sunday’s -- Come worship with us…trying to find a worship service to attend Sunday Afternoons?  Shelbyville Manor & Hawthorne Inn holds their worship service every Sunday at 2:30pm in the Manor Dining Hall.  All are welcome. Monday and Friday’s:  Did you know Shelbyville Senior Citizens have a great program here in Shelbyville that provides hot meals Monday through Friday for those that need a little help cooking.  The meals are delivered to their home by volunteers through the Senior Center.  It’s a great option for people to have a daily hot meal and to have someone check on them once a day.  Shelbyville Manor & Hawthorne Inn volunteer on Mondays and Fridays…so watch for our car out and about around 11am!  Give us a wave.  And if you know of anyone in need of this special service please call Marjorie Eversole at the Senior Center at 774-2251 for more information.

  Every Saturday @ 6pm is Movie & Popcorn night at Shelbyville Manor and ALL are welcome to join us. On the third Wednesday of every month Shelbyville Manor hosts BINGO in the Deli area the Shelbyville County Market from 8:30am to 9:30am.  This month the date is August 15th so bring your daubers and join us for some fun and fellowship.  The event is free to the public. May 4:  The residents of Shelbyville Manor will be creating Derby Hats today in the activity room at 9:30am to wear during the Kentucky Derby today.  All residents will then gather in the main lobby at 2:30pm to watch the race and root for their favorite horse! May 8:  Shelbyville Manor would like to invite family & friends to join the residents and staff for a concert in the main dining room at 2:15pm with music provided by Brad Dar. May 9: Calling all BINGO players…BINGO at the Findlay Community Center from 12:00pm to 1:00pm.  Meal served 11:30-12:00pm with a cost of $3.50/meal.  BINGO sponsored by Shelbyville Manor.  Please contact Peace Meal Senior Nutrition Program at 800-543-1770 to make a reservation. May 13:  This week is NATIONAL NURSING HOME WEEK and Shelbyville Manor will be showing our appreciation with a TON of fun and games for all staff & residents.  Today will begin the festivities with an all day Photo Scavenger Hunt.  At 9:30am and 3:30pm today we will be offering an Ice Cream Sundae Bar.  At 9:00am we will have a Bubble Release and then at 1:30pm the Decorate a Wheel Chair contest will begin.  We will end the day with BINGO called by our local Sherriff Koontz! May 14:  Today is FIESTA DAY with Walking Tacos being offered to the staff from 9am to 3pm.  At 10:15am the staff and residents of Shelbyville Manor will enjoy some Limbo Line Fun and then at 2pm we will have some Piñata Fun followed by Let’s Make Sombreros at 2:15pm.  We will round out the day with a game of  Pin the Tail on the Donkey at 3pm. May 15:  The residents and staff at Shelbyville Manor will be celebrating Laua Day today with many special activities including a photo booth and props, Flip Flop Hula Hoop Toss at 10:15am and then BINGO and Hawaiian Pizza Party with Alex Shanks at 2:15pm.  At 3:30pm the staff and residents will enjoy Spray Bottle Balloon Races and then at 6pm the residents will enjoy their Make A Wish deliveries, please come and join us for ALL the fun! May 16:  Today is Wild West Day at Shelbyville Manor with Pulled Pork & Potato Chips being offered to staff from 9am to 3pm.  At 10:15am the staff and residents will participate in a game of Round Em Up/Pig Pen and then we would like to invite family & friends to join the residents and staff for a concert in the main dining room at 2:15pm with music provided by Chuck and the Bunch. May 17:  Today is Funday Friday Sports Team Day here at Shelbyville Manor and all staff and residents are encouraged to “sport” their favorite Team attire.  There will be a facility wide Cookout today from 9am to 3pm with all the “fixins”.  We will start the day out with a game of Minute to Win It at 9:30am and then at 2pm one of our Department Heads will “Kiss the Cow”, who would you vote for?  At 2:15pm we will have another local celebrity to call BINGO in the dining room and at 6pm today a game of Basketball. May 17:  Bus Trip to Springfield, IL for a visit to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum, followed by lunch at Pizza Ranch.  Leaving Hawthorne Inn at 9:15am, please RSVP to Joni at 774-2111 by May 15.  May 18:  The residents at Shelbyville Manor will enjoy Music with Andy today in the main dining room at 2:15pm and we invite family and friends to come and join us! May 24:  At 2:15pm today the Shelbyville Manor will be hosting a Memorial Day Cookout for the residents, our residents look forward to this celebration ALL week! May 27:  The staff and residents of Shelbyville Manor will be honoring ALL of the fallen hero’s and their families on this Memorial Day!  May 28:  The Shelbyville Manor will be celebrating all of the May birthday’s today at 2:15pm in the main dining room.  Happy Birthday to ALL the residents born in the month of May. May 29:  The residents of Shelbyville Manor will enjoy a Fishing Trip today, who doesn’t LOVE a good ole day of fishing? May 30:  At 6pm tonight the Shelbyville manor will enjoy the musical talents of John Stephens, we would LOVE for family and friends to come and join us! Peace Meals are delivered by Shelbyville Manor & Hawthorne Inn twice a week on Monday’s and Friday’s.  Peace Meals are a service through our Shelby County Senior Center and Sarah Bush Lincoln in Mattoon.  Peace Meals are for those citizens in the community that need a little assistance for well balanced meals and who might not be able to get out for groceries.  Suggested Donations are $3.50 each day of receiving the meals.  Meals are delivered Monday -  Friday.  Please contact Marjorie at the Senior Center for more information:  774-2251.  Look for our car out and about and give us a wave!
